September Switch

Switchboard

Dear AWA Friends,

September is a moment of starting again. It is a switch from the release of summer back to the rhythms of work, projects, or school. September allows us to connect again with work colleagues, fellow writers, those we look to for advancing our best intentions.

At AWA we have news that has everything to do with each of you, everything to do with the connection we have been working to establish, maintain and strengthen.

We have launched a NEW WEBSITE. The new website is based on the concept that the AWA mission is evident, and that when people connect with AWA, they find information that quickly tells them what to do. Whether it is a first-time encounter, or an Affiliate return to update a listing, the steps are clear and useable. Please visit the new AWA website at: www.amherstwriters.org

Our first global writing workshop and fundraiser is WRITE AROUND THE WORLD, October 22 & 23. Over 40 volunteers from around the world have volunteered to lead workshops; 3% of those trained to lead AWA workshops. We need everyone! We are a community of writers, and this is the moment to link our voices. Please volunteer to lead a workshop; reach out to us if you are interested.  If you would like to write in a workshop, please contact us. We have all the tools you need to participate; you only need to bring your words and a donation. All donations are tax deductible, and no donation is too small.

The 2017 TRAINING SCHEDULE adds two cities to the AWA training map. We will begin in February in Atlanta, GA, move to Malibu, CA in April, arrive outside Boston, MA in June, and complete the year in Chicago, IL in September. If you are part of an agency or school who would like to bring an AWA training to your group, please contact us. We can help you establish the AWA Method within your community.

We are committed to making AWA a place of connections that endure: AWA and you. Please visit the website; update your Affiliate listing; join us in Write Around the World; spread the word about AWA Trainings. The switchboard is open.

With gratitude and respect,
Maureen Buchanan Jones
Executive Director
